A Jaipuri razai is Jaipur's famously light winter quilt: a soft cotton cover filled with hand-carded (dhunai) cotton that traps warm air, so a quilt weighing under a kilogram warms like a heavy blanket. Ours are the original construction — GI-certified Sanganeri hand block printed covers from Sanganer, azo-free or natural dyes, carded-cotton filling hand-tacked in place, no machine quilting on razais. Our lighter AC quilts are machine-quilted, and we say so on the label.

What is the right jaipuri razai price — why do yours cost ₹1,699–4,499?
Bazaar razais at ₹700–1,500 typically hide polyester fill and screen-printed covers. An original jaipuri razai needs hand-carded cotton (a dying skill — dhunai by bow), a hand block printed cover from Sanganer, and hand tacking to hold the fill. Our double razais at ₹2,999–4,499 sit exactly where honest premium makers price, with no discount theatre on the MRP.
How do I identify an original Jaipuri razai?
Weight and loft: a real double razai feels improbably light (400–900 g of fill) yet lofts up warm within minutes of use. Check that the fill is carded cotton (it compresses and springs back softly, unlike slippery polyfill), the cover is genuinely hand block printed with visible repeat joins, and the quilt is hand-tacked rather than machine-stitched in tight channels.
Will the block print cover fade after two washes?
The common complaint against cheap razais, and avoidable: our covers use azo-free reactive or natural dyes fixed into the cotton. Razais should be dry-cleaned or gently spot-cleaned and sunned briefly, not machine washed — the fill matters more than the print here. Cared for that way, the print outlives the winter count of the quilt.
Which warmth should I pick — mulmul razai, heavy winter, or AC quilt?
For north-Indian December–January (5–15°C rooms), take the heavy-winter razai (~900 g fill). For milder winters and Jaipur-style cold, the mulmul razai (~350–450 g) is the classic. For air-conditioned rooms year-round, the machine-quilted AC quilt (~220–300 g) is right. Doubles are 90×100 in, singles 60×90 in; all ship compressed in cloth bags from Jaipur.
