What does 'GI-certified' mean at Sanganeri?
Sanganeri Hand Block Printing holds a Geographical Indication (GI) registration — applied in 2009 and certified in 2010 — the government-backed mark that certifies a textile is hand block printed in Sanganer, Jaipur using the traditional technique. Every piece we sell is printed in Sanganer and ships with its GI certification note.
How do I know it is real hand block print and not a screen or machine print?
Hand block printing leaves honest tell-tale signs: slight misregistration where two motifs meet, small variations in colour depth from stamp to stamp, and colour that bleeds gently through to the reverse of the fabric. A screen or machine print is perfectly, suspiciously uniform. Our learn guide walks you through the checks step by step.
What fabrics and dyes do you use?
Our base cloth is 100% cotton — mulmul, percale and heavier weaves, disclosed on each listing — printed with azo-free pigment or natural dyes. The exact dye type is stated on every product page. A blend or a different base is never passed off as pure cotton. That honesty is the whole point of the house.
What if my piece isn't as described or the print isn't genuine hand block?
We offer a full refund plus ₹500 compensation if any craft or certification claim doesn't hold up. Email care@sanganeri.in within 7 days of delivery with photos and we'll arrange pickup and refund at our cost.
How should I wash and care for hand block printed fabric?
Wash the first two or three times separately in cold water with a mild detergent — hand block colours settle with the first washes. Never bleach, dry in shade inside-out, and iron on the reverse. Every order includes a care card, and our /learn guide covers washing step by step.
How long does delivery take, and is COD available?
Within India: 3–7 business days via tracked courier, free shipping above ₹999, and Cash on Delivery available pan-India. Made-to-order yardage and bulk orders add a few days as each run is printed to order.
What is your return policy?
7-day easy returns on unused items in original packaging with the tags and certification note intact. Custom yardage and bulk-customised runs are non-returnable unless authenticity or a quality issue is in question, in which case a full refund plus ₹500 compensation applies.
