About this piece
Red block print fabric in the second great Sanganeri colourway: a deep alizarin-red buti hand-printed on white cotton cambric. Each motif is stamped individually in Sanganer, Jaipur, so the repeat carries the slight human variation that machine prints cannot fake. Sold per meter at 44 inches wide — a dependable base for festive suits, table linen, quilting and gifting yardage.
Specifications
How much fabric do you need?
A rough guide for 44 in (112 cm) wide fabric — your tailor may ask for a little more depending on pattern matching and your size.
How to wear
A natural pick for festive kurtas, Diwali table runners and pooja-room linen; pair with plain red or gold-tissue borders. Pre-wash cold and separately before cutting — reds shed the most surface dye in the first wash and then hold. Dry in shade to keep the white ground bright.
Frequently asked
Is the red colourfast?
Yes, once the loose surface dye clears in the first cold wash. Always wash red yardage separately the first two times, use mild detergent and skip bleach entirely.
How is this different from marketplace 'sanganeri print' fabric?
Most of that is screen printed sheeting sold under the Sanganeri name. This is hand block printed inside the GI-protected Sanganer cluster — motif visible on the reverse, block joins visible along the bolt.
Can I order matching quantities later?
Yes, but hand printing varies slightly batch to batch, so order the full requirement for one project together if an exact match matters.
