About this piece
Pink block print fabric in the most recognised Sanganeri pattern: a small rose-pink buti — a flowering sprig — hand-stamped on a white cotton cambric ground. Printed in Sanganer, Jaipur with hand-carved sheesham blocks and azo-free pigment dye. At 44 inches wide and sold per meter, it works for kurtas, suit sets, summer dresses, quilt backs and cushion fronts alike.
Specifications
How much fabric do you need?
A rough guide for 44 in (112 cm) wide fabric — your tailor may ask for a little more depending on pattern matching and your size.
How to wear
Stitch it into a summer kurta, an A-line dress or a three-piece suit with a plain rani-pink dupatta; it also makes gentle nursery quilting. Pre-wash once in cold water with mild detergent and dry in shade — a light release of surface dye in the first wash is normal for hand block prints. Iron on medium while slightly damp.
Frequently asked
Is this genuinely hand block printed?
Yes. Check the reverse — the pink buti bleeds through the cloth, and you will find faint block-join lines along the length. Screen print, which we do not sell, stays flat and back-blank.
Will the pink bleed onto the white ground in the wash?
The first cold wash releases a little loose surface dye; wash separately and it settles permanently. After that the pigment is stable — avoid bleach, hot water and long soaks.
How many meters do I need?
About 2.5 m for a kurta or kurti, 5 m for a full three-piece suit with dupatta, and 1.5 m covers five 16×16 cushion fronts. Ships rolled in one continuous cut.
